MEET EDMONTON ORTHODONTIST DR. JESSICA YU

A native Albertan, Dr. Jessica Yu was born and raised in Edmonton. After graduating from Harry Ainlay Composite High School, she went to Grant MacEwan and then on to Boston University, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2008.

In 2010, Dr. Yu received her certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Pennsylvania. UPenn teaches several popular corrective orthodontic regimens, giving Dr.Yu a thorough understanding of the respective merits of each treatment philosophy and the ability to apply them clinically. Dr. Yu treats all age groups and understands the specific needs of each age group.

On the Professional Side:

Dr Yu is a member of the Fellowship in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (F.R.C.D.(C)), the Canadian Association of Orthodontics (CAO), the American Association of Orthodontics (AAO) and the Alberta Society of Orthodontics (ASO). She also facilitates training at the University of Alberta pre-doctoral dentistry program as a part-time clinical instructor.

On the Personal Side:

In her spare time, Dr.Yu enjoys all things sports. An avid Oilers fan, Dr. Yu takes any opportunity she has to catch the games on TV or in person. She also plays badminton competitively and is heavily involved in local rugby. Dr. Yu volunteers her time as the women’s director for the Nor’Wester Athletic Association and is the badminton committee chair at the Royal Glenora Club. Dr. Yu’s passions are her patients, family and sports. Her love of each shines through in the work she does.
